About Sam Rothschild — The Viking Lab
My Why
I grew up watching both of my parents battle significant health challenges—my mother with Multiple Sclerosis, bedridden until her passing, and my father, whose arm was affected by Polio since childhood. From an early age, I realized I wanted to help improve people’s quality of life. Whether healthy or facing limitations, there’s always room for improvement, and that drives everything I do.
Experience & Expertise
Since earning my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Movement Science) from San Francisco State University in 2013, I’ve been helping individuals of all ages and backgrounds reach their goals. I hold:
- CSCS – Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA)
- CPT – Certified Personal Trainer (NASM)
- CES – Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM)
Over the years, I’ve guided clients through body composition changes, skill development, lifting technique, injury recovery, and overall wellness. My work spans a diverse population, all with one shared goal: to feel better, move better, and perform better.
Philosophy
I take a systematic approach to training. Every session is designed not just for results, but for education. My clients leave understanding exercise technique, equipment usage, and program structure, so when it’s time to train independently, they’re fully equipped to succeed.
My Journey
Sports have always been part of my life—football and wrestling from third grade through tenth. Along the way, I experienced injuries ranging from shoulder issues to spinal concerns, giving me firsthand insight into recovery and resilience. After my mother passed during college, I struggled with my own health, gaining significant weight. I eventually lost over 50 pounds, transforming my lifestyle and solidifying my passion for helping others navigate their own fitness journeys.
Who I Help Best
At The Viking Lab, we train all ages, shapes, and abilities. What unites our members is a shared commitment: to look better, feel better, and perform better. Fitness should be for everyone, and I take pride in guiding “normal people” toward extraordinary results.
